Putting on this retreat has never been about making money. So much so that we simply broke even every year until The Empress year (of course!). The main perk we get as facilitators is not paying for coming to the retreat. For the majority of the journey, we have not recieved financial reimbursement. For a few years after the Empress year those of us who facilitated reimbursed ourselves for travel and sometimes a little more (the most we made was $500) In the past few years, we have not taken any pay, as we prefer to prioritize scholarships and keep the price of the retreat low.
We will be posting here every year an accounting of what it costs to put on the retreat.

Divination Day and the funk trunk help with covering some of the cost of scholarships, but not all. If you can’t make it for whatever reason, we will gratefully accept any donations to defray costs and enhance our scholarship fund. Part of our planning involves envisioning how we go forward; including how we continue to bring new people onboard, while allowing those who’ve done been in leadership to take sabbaticals, and all around making this something sustainable for the long haul of this foolish journey. We are over half way there!
We want to make Fool’s affordable and sustainable. Our website does not allow for a sliding scale, but we ask you to consider seeing it that way.
